Brielle + Ant’s wedding was a DREAM to be a part of – there was so much love and good vibes here. My heart was completely full when I left their wedding!
Tell me about the location of the wedding – why did you choose it and what does it mean to you?
Although we both live in Perth, we love going down south and being around the Yallingup/Margaret River/Dunsborough/Busselton area. It has always been a dream of mine to get married down south, so once we got engaged we just fell in love with the idea and begun looking at venues. Black Brewing Co is just a stunning venue / location. It’s very relaxed, but also just remarkably beautiful.
How did you find me? Why did you pick me to capture your wedding day?
You were actually one of the first people we stumbled across while researching Black Brewing Co as a venue and your videos stuck in our mind. We couldn’t find any other wedding videos that compared to yours – we loved how you tell a story about the day and the couple in your videography, and how beautifully you capture every moment of each couple’s day.
Tell me about yourselves … How did you meet? What do you do?..How do you spend your days?..What’s important in life?
Ant and I both got invited to an Australia Day weekend camping trip with a large group of friends in 2018, and that is where we met for the first time. We quickly moved from acquaintances to good friends after hanging out a lot in group settings and meeting up for “Thirsty Thursday” drinks in Scarborough. Ant asked me to go on a date with him for the first time after we went camping again with our friends for Easter. Our first date was on the 3rd April 2018 and it was amazing – Ant is quite the perfectionist and everything was perfect. Currently, Ant works as a Sales Representative for Groupon and I work in Marketing. We try to spend our weekends getting out and adventuring as much as we can. Our obsession with Jeeps, camping, the ocean and the outdoors gets us both excited for the 12 month lap around Australia we will eventually take (this was originally going to be our 2021 “honeymoon” but then… covid). Our family, our sense of adventure and our zeal for life are all important aspects of our lives that also make us who we are. We’re both career driven, but we both agree that this isn’t the most important thing. We’re very focused on just making our 20’s/30’s the most amazing years of our lives together before we settle down and do the “family thing” a bit later on. Being young, loving each other and living a fun and adventurous life together are all important things for us.
The proposal? …Tell me a little bit about it…
Our proposal story is amazing. Ant and I had been talking about the idea of getting married for a little while so we both knew that it was on the cards. I knew that Ant would love to organise a romantic and big engagement for us, but I also loved the idea of “proposing” to Ant myself. Without us knowing, I bought Ant a Tissot watch on the 31st Oct and on the same day he ordered my engagement ring. He had organised to propose on the 7th December, but two weeks before I surprised him on a romantic picnic date down near the Swan River in Nedlands and handed him a letter. After reading the letter, which ended with “will you marry me, or accept this yes in advance?” he looked up and saw the watch. It was a beautiful moment. We both cried (yes, softies!), and he wanted to spill the whole thing about his proposal plan but we agreed not to discuss it and that he would proceed with it as normal. We agreed not to tell anyone until he’d proposed. I had no idea that it would be so soon. Two weeks later, Ant had organised for us to stay the night in Jurien Bay and go skydiving the next day as a graduation gift for me and on the way we stopped at Iluka Beach. This was the beach were we’d had our first date a few years ago. At this point I knew what was up – we walked down to the beach . Ant had a whole picnic setup organised for us, which our friends had helped to set up. He got down on one knee and proposed with a beautiful ring. Our good friends were hiding in the bushes photographing the whole thing. It was another beautiful moment and I was completely surprised.
