Racheal and Alex were bound to meet in a bar in Melbourne through mutual friends. Alex was living in Perth at the time and it was not long after Racheal visited him on the west side that they started living together in Perth. They both love being outdoors in nature and especially close to the ocean, where Alex surfs and scuba dives. Margaret River made the perfect location for the wedding day where they could be surrounded by the ocean and nature. Their ceremony and wedding reception venue at Howard Park Wines, just a 10-minute drive from Gracetown, a gorgeous beach where I photographed the two of them at sunset before their party. Their favourite part of the wedding was the dancefloor, where the talented Askya played tunes to get absolutely everyone on the dancefloor! I’m so glad that they fell in love with my natural and candid approach to photography and let me capture this gorgeous day for them!

The proposal? …Tell me a little bit about it…

It was a Thursday afternoon and Alex asked if I wanted to go for a walk along the beach which is something we do most nights. It took a lot for him to convince me to take my shoes off and walk along the sand as it was a cool June evening and I thought the sand was too cold 🙂 He tried to tell me he wanted to go for a swim and it was then that I had an inkling of what he was about to do… he got down on one knee on the sand at our favourite beach close to home and pulled the ring box out of his jocks as he had no where else to hide it! He then whisked me away for a nights stay at Como the Treasury and dinner at Wildflower as he knew I had been absolutely dying to stay there!
