Tell me about the location of the wedding – why did you choose it and what does it mean to you?

Caves House Hotel in Yallingup. We knew we wanted to get married down south, it’s where we are happiest and where Anand proposed so we definitely didn’t even consider other options. I have always loved Caves House and when we were looking at venues we just knew it was the right one for us. We love the gardens, the beach nearby, the fact our family and friends can stay at the accommodation also and have a continued celebration. It’s also nice to know that we can always go back for a visit and remember the day.

How did you find me? Why did you pick me to capture your wedding day?

We found you through my sister Alessandra and brother-in-law Ross’ wedding. Also my coworker Brett it turns out. We wanted you to capture the day as your films are just beautiful. We love the audio narration, that you can really feel the vibe of the wedding and that I believe the films are just timeless.

Tell me about yourselves:

We met working at Dan Murphy’s. We were both studying and working there as a part-time job. We actually weren’t the closest at the start but we eventually became friends and Anand quickly made it known his intentions from the get go. We spend a lot of our time around family, for us it’s the most important thing. We love catching up with our nephews/nieces, siblings and parents. We also love to travel, runaway down south when we can, enjoy a glass of wine and see different sites. I feel like we really enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

The proposal?

I had arranged a last minute trip away as I needed a break from work and Anand agreed to take time off from work also. It was super last minute so it did not cross my mind once that Anand would propose. We had spent our day visiting wineries and getting a bit merry as we usually would down south. We had decided to do some activities like go to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in Augusta. I hadn’t realised that he was rushing down the road to get there in time. We arrived for a tour where no one else was in attendance. I figured it was because it was the off season and a cold day but Anand had actually booked out the entire time slot so it was only us! The tour guide took us to the top of the lighthouse and told us that this was the point where the two oceans meet (the southern and indian ocean) and asked if we had wanted to take a photo. I agreed and turned around to see Anand down on one knee. I don’t remember much after that as I was very surprised. He had proposed with my mum’s engagement ring and had asked my parent’s permission beforehand. He did very well!
